Product works just fine for me. Fits perfectly in my Frigidair refrigerator. Water tastes fine. My one suggestion when installing these is to make sure the small rubber o rings are on right on the filter before installing, otherwise you will have a kitchen full of water in no time.

Works well. Tips to remove existing filter and installation
Removing existing filter is easy using some sturdy needle nose pliers to grip tabs on the side of the existing filter to pull it out. Lay a towel down to catch water that drips out.Installation is simple – but I’ve found I needed to trim to a shorter length the little plastic “post” that extends out next to the filter inlets to make the filter fit.Need to run a 3-4 1 gallon pitchers after installing for best taste/performance

third time not a charm!
I HAVE ORDERED THREE OF THESE IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. THE FIRST ONE DIDN’T ALLOW WATER TO FLOW THROUGH THE FILTER SO I ASSUMED IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND ORDERED ANOTHER WHICH WORKED FINE. NOW I JUST REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER ONE AND IT DOESN’T WORK EITHER. NO WATER THROUGH THE FILTER. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!!!! AND THE RETURN WINDOW HAS CLOSED, SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE KENMORE BRAND REPLACEMENT FILTER!!!! AND YES I HAVE TRIED PULLING IT OUT AND REINSTALLING IT SEVERAL TIMES, HAVE ALSO WAITED TO SEE IF IT TOOK TIME TO PRESSURE UP ETC. IT IS STILL NOT WORKING! We have owned this refridgerator for probably 15 years now and I have replaced the water filter at least 25-30 times during this duration so it is not me it is this filter which does not work! Buyer beware, I am done with this brand.

This is a replacement water filter for my Kenmore refrigerator. It works well. I could have said it was easy to install but that’s because I get a friend of mine to lay on the floor and put it in. He complains viciously each time but finishes the job in just a few minutes.

Leakage – product bad design or o-ring is old or not oem for kenmore fridge
I took no pics of the leakage but after 2 days from installing filter I had water all over my kitchen floor. Thankfully I live in a 1 story house and the base floor is concrete foundation with tile above it and I noticed the leaking fridge/filter within days of install. Just glad I wasn’t traveling or else the leakage would have eventually damaged my sheetrock walls and cabinetry.The filter itself seems to be “okay” and when I installed the filter, it seemed to attach well enough and engage into the connections but apparently the o-rings on the lines are either too big, too small, not the right size for the kenmore side by side fridge it was placed into. And thankfully I saved my old filter, a whirlpool filter which is not on sale on amazon anymore. I put the whirlpool filter back into its place and no more leaking.For folks unaware – my kenmore fridge has a built in pan under the filter to catch leaking water. The pan is maybe a quart size big, a flat pan that can be accessed from back of the fridge after unscrewing about 5-6 screws off the bottom panel and removing the panel to get to the back/bottom of the fridge to then use a wet/dry shop vac to suck up the water that is more likely in the pan after installing a faulty filter much like i did with this kenmore brand. A few days after putting my old filter (whirlpool brand) back and taking out this filter, I checked the pan again and it is still dry so I know for a fact that this kenmore filter is faulty. And another observation on this kenmore filter, after removing it and draining the water from it, the filter appears to be lighter and it is lacking of something inside of it as compared to the whirlpool filter that has been in use for 1-2 years now and really is still working as my water tastes fine and water flow is no problem. so, I will continue to use the whirpool filter until I can find a replacement whirlpool and will not trust this supposedly oem kenmore filter.If it wasn’t for the leaking, the filter seemed to work fine and provided clean taste free water from it but again after removing it and draining the water it was noticeably lighter and missing of material in it as compared to the whirlpool filter.

Cheaper way to go
These are less expensive to order than to go to the store and buy. They seem to work okay but then I really have no way of testing the water that comes out of them. They do fit properly.

It works leak free
Other reviews talk about a bad flavor and smell. We flushed 5 gallons through it after install and that helps. After 5-10 more gallons the oder and taste went away.

Fits, works, matches EXACTLY what I got from the original manufacturer in every way
The water comes out really slow. Not sure if that’s a function of the filter. I think it is. But the filters work. The water tastes noticeably good. Other posts are claiming these are counterfeit, based on what they say is a serial number. I have ordered one from Sears for comparison, and will update here accordingly.EDIT: the serial number on the one I got from Sears looks nothing like these. So evidently they are not legit. A shady water filter is most definitely NOT something I’m interested in messing with.EDIT AGAIN: Now I think the scam is a scam. I ordered some FROM the brand website (SRS) and they look exactly like these, INCLUDING the shrink wrap and the “serial number”. I went through a couple of these before I tried the ones from the manufacturer and had no problems. I assume these are fine and the cries of scam are…a scam. There are just different styles of packaging and slightly different production tracking numbers somehow. If you get a bad one, return it and get another one. These things happen.
