These filters really filter
These filters really filter out stuff I hope. I can’t tell as the particles in water would be small. I do not have the equipment to test what is lift in the filter and if the filters filter things. I assume so.

Looks like a direct replacement
Overall, it finally works. At first, the filter would not fit in the fridge, even though it’s the exact same filter that I had previously. About a week later passed and I just jammed it in there and it finally mounted.It’s a good idea to allow about a gallon or two of water to come out because it gives a lot of air bubbles at first. Over time and constant use, it eventually goes away as the filter gets completely saturated in the water.

DOESNT FIT!!!

I thought I was losing my mind when I tried putting this into the slot for my kenmore fridge like I normally have. It doesn’t usually give me issues closing the flap once the filter has been put inside. I FINALLY got the lid to snap (which sounded a lot* too tight) and I realized that my water was pouring through my fridge anytime that I went to get water in a glass from the outside spout. I tried another one inside of the bundle (I bought the three pack) and the purple caps I realized also looked off. The purple cap you take off doesn’t even sit evenly. I removed it though, put this second filter into the fridge, and it ALSO didn’t fit. It gave me the same issue in trying to close the cap behind it. I have bought from another seller on amazon, which I will now go back to, and I absolutely will not be buying from this seller again. The fact that I have to wait to return the item, then have the retailer process it, and then return my money, while I spend more money on another filter and ALSO wait to get that one is a thorn in my side. (I’d like to use other words along with inserting an eye roll emoji.) Please you guys… do not waste your money or flood your fridge by buying this.

A matter of taste
I like the fact that the product came in a very timely manner and, it was very easy to install. I followed the instructions carefully and let the water come through the filter as instructed. Unfortunatey, the water has a decided charcoal taste to it that is not pleasant and if the taste doesn’t go away after a few more “runnings” of water in a half gallon pitcher I have, I may have to search for something better than the product that the refrigerator manufacturer produces.

Poor quality. Filters clogged immediately.
It looked completely fine and normal but it stopped working the day after inserting. Every so often I have to take the filter out and shake it or the water won’t come through the door. I tried all 3 of the filters included in the pack and they all have the same problem. I’ve had other people check to make sure I inserted it correctly, but the filter keeps clogging for no apparent reason.

these to do NOT fit a 9081
My husband bought this 3 pack under his account and we just spent about 3 hours trying to figure out why none of the three we got will fit. Changing a water filter in a Kenmore fridge is a very easy process. We have done this many, many times, but this batch of filters is NOT what it claims to be. Be VERY CAREFUL if you somehow get it to fit in your fridge and drink the water from these filters.

I purchased three of these filters for the first time… after replacing the first one running 4 gal of water before using, I decided to do a TDS test.. I was astonished with the reading of (976ppm) scary..the U.S. EPA’s max contaminant level is (500).. Kenmore phone number 1-800-my home doesn’t work.
