Water tastes good
The water coming through this filter tastes really good, and I’m picky. I just wish I knew what was in the filter. I looked everywhere and could not find the specs on this filter. I hoped it would be charcoal, but they have you run a bunch of water through it after installation and absolutely not one spec of black came out of the filter. I have never had that happen with any other charcoal filter, so now I don’t know what it is. But the water and ice coming out of it are delicious.

Finally got the right one!
I replaced the filter which I should have done a long time ago. Had to clear the shelf in the fridge first. The instructions said to shut off water but I’m stubborn!! I also didn’t get the filter in all the way and had water running across the floor! Once I got it tight, i ran water thru it for several minutes as instructed. Works very well! Nice filter!

Used Filter
I am not sure where this went bad. I received the filter in the original box (No plastic sticker which should have been the first clue) but overall, I’m like ok. So, I opened the box and the second clue, I find a filter not in shrink wrap. The red nozzle cover was still on it. So I decided to remove the red nozzle cover and water came shooting out slightly with it. Nasty… So what my thought is here someone replaced their filter then returned this marking it “Unused”? Possibly? I’m not completely sure but coming straight from the Kenmore Store I’d expect better QC… If someone returns something and it’s clearly unwrapped don’t resell it to someone.

Good Tasting Water
I needed to replace my water filter after my other filter “went bad” after 2 1/2 months of use. The water from the old filter tasted horrible, so I wanted to quickly get a replacement. I have never bought a filter from anyone selling on Amazon before, but they offered the quickest shipping method. I received the filter 5 days after buying it. It was very easy to install in my refrigerator and I am enjoying my better tasting water. So far, everything is going well. I am hoping this filter lasts more than 2 1/2 months, but we’ll see.Update… two months later, my water is still tasting great.

Kenmore Replacements Going 10 Years Strong
These work well for me in my Kenmore refrigerator. Once I put in a new cartridge I run water through it for a couple minutes. This allows any loose particles to rinse out while clearing air pockets from the system. I replace this every year or so, once the water stream starts to weaken.

I bought this filter for my refrigerator. It’s easy to install. Once installed, all you have to do is run a couple of cycles of water (manual says 2.5 gallons of water). But i used a 32oz cup, filled it up several times until the air (bubbles) were cleared out. Also once the water itself looks clear. Then it’s safe to have a drink 🙂

Did not fit my fridge and it’s the same part number I always use. Don’t cheap out buy from a reputable supplier and get ones that work. Both of these had different connecting ears and were both a touch shorter. Yes I bought two now they both go in the trash.
