Honestly, without testing the water I drink after it is filtered in this OEM Samsung refrigerator water filter, there is no true way for me to say it’s doing what it says.What I do know is the water filtered thru my Fridge is crystal clear and never has an after taste.I will only buy the OEM Samsung water filters, not a knock off.They are expensive, but I allow to go 8 months interval before switching out with a new filter cartridge or until water flow is reduced substantially, but that has never happened to my home.

The filter is functioning properly.The Samsung Filter contains a concealed built-in chip.If your Samsung refrigerator stops producing ice when using cheaper off brand filters, it means that the chip is not recognized by Samsung devices.To resolve this issue, I promptly removed the off-brand filter and replaced it with a Samsung OEM filter.As a result, the problem was resolved, and the Samsung refrigerator began producing ice again.This confirms the presence of a hidden chipset inside the Samsung filters, which are more expensive than off-brand filters.Due to the ice production issue, I had no choice but to opt for the Samsung OEM filters.

I was on an auto ship from the company I bought the refrigerator. Every 6 months there was issues and they were back ordered. I would be charged for the filter before they sent it out. I checked Amazon and there was this two pack which cost me about $8 more for two than the other charged for one. I received them in a couple days. This is how I will buy them from here on out. Good job!

I bought these a year ago because when I change the water I like to have at least one extra on hand just in case. I’d like to say that having the backup was a good thing, but both the new, unused filters leaked. I’ve been using the Samsung filters since I’ve had this refrigerator because, well, Samsung made the refrigerator so same brand replacement parts, right? Nope. I replaced the old filter with one of the new ones and everything seemed to be ok, but then I noticed ice forming from dripping water in the freezer and around the door. I monitored it for a few days having to break ice out of my freezer fearing the drawer would not open due to ice accumulation. I was concerned about having to get a repairman or replacing this refrigerator. The only thing that was new was the filter so I decided to read the reviews of this filter and found they sometimes leaked so I decided to change the filter again to see if that was the problem. So I changed it again and it seemed to be good so I left it alone for about 12 hours and found that the second filter was leaking worse. There was water all over the floor and under the refrigerator. I shut the water off to the refrigerator and ordered 3 filters NOT made by Samsung to be delivered next day. The new filter (not Samsung) is working beautifully and cost less. For all the filter changes, I did the water flush to make sure there was no air in the line and the filter was ready to work per filter change instructions. For one filter to fail is one thing. But that the two name brand filters failed back to back is another. Because the Samsung filters cost more and failed as they did, I will NOT be purchasing the Samsung filters ever again.

What I do not like about this filter is that where the water dispenser is located, there is always a white crust at the dispenser rim. It appears to be chlorine and or mineral deposits. I have treated water, which is high in chlorine and other chemicals. I can smell and taste it out of the faucet, therefore, I only use water dispenser on my refrigerator. It definitely filters most of bad chemicals. For the money, I would expect there not to be a rim of white around dispenser.
